Please Check a Box...

I've been filling out a lot of forms lately that contain demographics and I've been forced to check boxes regarding race/ethnicity. Now I am very glad to see that most companies/organizations have added a box for biracial or multiracial. That is a wonderful thing.

Tonight J.D. Power and Associates contacted my home today asking me to take a survey concerning my banking habits. I was okay with taking the survey because they guy was nice and I was wasting time until Grey's came on.

The surveyor asked me to identify my race and as he read off the choices I expected the last choice to be "Other" but he said "Something else". *BLINK* *BLINK* *BLINK* I was taken aback and had to ask the guy to repeat himself. I answered "something else", that's a new box!

I'm Going Through....

Right now my life has been turned upside down and inside out. My eyes can't help but tear up and questions, accusations, frustration and anger occupy my mind completely. Yet, I know that I have to bounce back and get things done.

What I've learned from this experience is to live to my potential, work as hard as I can, stay determined to be and remain the best and always remember that I belong to a family to depends on me. That last one is the most important one. My family is who I care the most about in the world.

I recognize that this is a dark time for me but I want to move past it and get things right. Last night my husband gave me what I needed. He encouraged me. He told me he loved me. He told me that he believes in me and he gave me the best advice...Make a plan, write it down and make it happen. Then he stamped it by saying..."Stick to it!"

That man loves me and I'm so blessed to have him.

I guess at the end of it all I'm saying that I'm hurt but I'll be okay and I'll be better than I was before. Thanks for letting me vent.

Life Right Now!

I love having the History channel to watch all day long. Oh! I can't forget History International.

Something's going on right now and it makes me sad more than happy. But I saw a silver lining yesterday and made me do a happy dance and it improved my mood. I hope the swing stays in this direction for a while.

I'm so ready to see my mommy and sisters! The 19th is getting near and I'm going home to MS to visit.

It's amazing how something that I thought was nothing has had an impact on people I don't even know. AHIMA should thank me! JK....not really.

I've always been grateful for my blessings, just wonder how I can do better with them.

Sad does not accurately describe the last 4 days. Silver lining, silver lining....that's my mantra right now.

I want this!

Hubby and I are currently renting and have been since we got married. We had some financial hurdles that we are overcoming and now we're on the good foot. Our current lease will be up in December 2010 and I am NOT renting again.

This house is the inspiration for the home that I want to purchase. Now let me get particular, I want an older home, one with character. I want between 1700-1900 sq feet. I want a porch, preferably one that wraps around a side of the home and has a ceiling fan.

I want hardwood floors, pedestal sinks and bear-claw tubs, crown molding, a bricked in fireplace and a gas stove. I want a beautiful front and back yard and not just a patch of grass and I want mature trees and a window seat somewhere in the house so I can sit and stare.

This is my house and my husband and I will make it a home. I'm just dreaming while blogging!
